Managing tasks during an incident is crucial for ensuring efficient and organized resolution. Flarekit makes it easy to create, assign, update, and track tasks directly within Slack. Below are the detailed steps and functionalities available:

Step 1: Run /flarekit task

To create a task, you can use the /flarekit task command in any Slack channel. This command initiates the task creation process, allowing you to specify the details, such as the task name, description (optional), and assignee.

Step 2: Select New task

After running the /flarekit task command, a dialog box will appear. Select New task to begin creating a new task.

Step 3: Complete the information

Fill in the required information for the new task:

  • Name: Enter the task name (e.g., Check AWS logs).

  • Description: Optionally, give a detailed description of the task. This helps clarify what needs to be done.

  • Owner: Also, as an option, assign the task to a specific team member responsible for completing it.

Step 4: Select Create

After filling in all the necessary information for your new task, select "Create." This will save the task and notify the assigned team member. A report summarizing the task will also be broadcast to the relevant channels.
